Sign of the Bellbird Lookout

This lookout on Summit Rd, Port Hills, Christchurch has a new carpark and a beautiful accessible , lookout. The views are of Lyttleton Harbour. There are also a couple of areas to picnic, there are no steps but they are on a hill with a decent incline - but not impossible to go down and up if you are game. Across the road is the original Sign of the Bellbird shelter built in 1914. There are steps down to this and the whole area is on a slope. There are also bush walks from here , but they are not for wheelchairs!!!
